Bark Appeal Gives Back

At Bark Appeal, we believe every pet deserves to go home with a safe, comfortable harness—no exceptions. That belief inspired our Support-A-Pet donation program. Support-A-Pet provides harnesses to rescue groups and shelters so more pets can head to their forever homes with the essentials they need.

Why?

  • 2024: Approximately 4.2 million dogs and cats were adopted from U.S. shelters. (Source: ASPCA)

  • 2023: An estimated 4.8 million dogs and cats found homes through shelters. (Source: Shelter Animals Count)

  • First Half of 2025: About 1.9 million dogs and cats were adopted nationwide. (Source: Shelter Animals Count)

These numbers highlight a strong and ongoing commitment to giving pets safe, loving homes across the country.

How It Works

For every order placed with Bark Appeal, we include a harness donation in your shipment. You can then deliver these donated harnesses directly to your local shelter or rescue organization.

Together, we can make sure no pet goes without a harness.

Thank you for your support, and please feel free to contact us with any questions.

Thank you,
Bark Appeal, Inc.

Dear Kim and Dean:I recently ordered a Bark Appeal step-in harness for my foster Yorkie, Bruno. I have been working in Yorkie rescue for over a decade and love your harnesses for their quality and pretty colors. Little Bruno came in to United Yorkie Rescue with a broken radius. He had surgery about two weeks ago and is doing great! The step in harness accommodates his rather thick bandage and is so easy to put on and take off. He can only go outside (briefly) with a harness and leash until the splint comes off. No running, no jumping…doctor’s orders! The step-in harness makes life a lot easier. Also, I was really impressed with your commitment that no pet should go without a harness! Thank you for sending the extra harness. I will either donate it to UYR, or our local shelter where I will be dropping off some food soon.Bruno says “thank you,” too!All the Best,Diane MarvinUnited Yorkie Rescue VolunteerMid-Atlantic / SE TeamBruno’s Foster Mom
